Lorna’s Wool
is a family farm-based business with a mission to share the magic of needle felting with crafters everywhere. Our business grew out of Lorna’s passion for wool and her experience as a fiber artist and educator. After leading needle felting workshops for a number of years, she developed her original “Felting Egg” , which is a handcrafted, prefelted core that enables beginners to create a finished wooly creature in an hour or less. Her original designs, that are based around her Felting Eggs, became so popular that she developed Lorna’s Wool Needle Felting Kits as a complete “workshop in a box” for beginning and experienced needle felters. Needle Felting uses a specialized barbed needle that is poked through loose wool into the wool Felting Eggs in a repetitive jabbing motion. The barbs grab the fibers as the needle passes through and tangles it into a soft felt that can be sculpted with unbelievable detail. Considered one of the hottest new crafts today, Lorna’s Wool Needle Felting Kits are a great way to discover the joys of this craft.
Our Kits come with everything you need to create two finished critters, including 2 Felting Eggs, Colored Wool, 3 Felting Needles, Skewers, and Full Color Directions with photos that take you step by step to insure success, even if you’ve never needle felted before. Since each kit makes two projects, it can be shared with a friend or loved one for a fun evening of creative play. We do want to remind parents that these kits do contain sharp needles, so adult supervision and participation with any needle felting project is a must when children are involved.
